Join Kate for a brief but fully enriching session where you will be guided through deceptively simple making using a range of mindful exercises. We will use mark-making and collage to create gorgeous small maps or personal and interior journeys. Using senses to navigate making this session is for anyone who wants to find a way into making or to loosen up their existing way of working.
This course is linked to LPW's involvement with Mental Health Awareness Week (11th - 17th May 2026), bringing a focus on the benefits of being involved with making art and expressing yourself visually.
LPW is running a series of free workshops through the week with a variety of partner organisations with tutor of this particular workshop donating their fee to help fund the free access work LPW does for families accessing their drop ins all year round.

About the Tutor
Currently based in Leicester, Kate Da'Casto is a fine artist whose practice spans drawing, photography, printmaking, installation and sculpture. Her subject matter is usually about transformation, growth and the emotional resonance of the discarded.
Graduating with a First in Fine Art from De Montfort University in 2010, Kate went on to win three prestigious awards for printmaking and her art practice and to exhibit locally and nationally. She has collaborated and exhibited as part of The Attic fine art collective and she has taught Fine Art at Leicester De Montfort University and printmaking at LPW.
Leicester Print Workshop
Leicester Print Workshop is the regional development centre for printmaking. Established by artists in 1986, we are a registered charity, supported by Arts Council England. Our RIBA award-winning building is situated in Leicester City Centre's Cultural Quarter and is home to a large, well equipped open access Printmaking Studio.
We have over 30 years’ experience of teaching people printmaking. Our programme offers the largest number and broadest range of printmaking courses in the region, with courses suitable for beginners as well as experienced printmakers, delivered by practicing artists and nationally renowned tutors. Participants learn in small and friendly groups in our purpose-designed studio.
