Extend your knowledge of basic screenprinting with this course. Perfect if you have done our popular Intro to Print course or wish to build your current skills, this two week course extends and refines your understanding of this planographic printmaking technique. A great refresher for those who already work with screen, with an artist tutor who is an expert in this process.
You will spend the first week exploring the hand drawn mark in screen, creating multi layered artwork using different mark making processes. there will be painterly monoprint using a wide variety of materials.
In week two you will have the opportunity to build upon these images with photographic elements and stencils to create finely registered images.

About the Tutor
Leicester based artist Katy Goodrich has been a part of Leicester Print Workshop for the last 15 years. Starting as a volunteer she then undertook a 5 year apprenticeship at LPW learning all aspects of print and in 2020 Katy became a technician here in the studio.
Specialising in screenprinting, Katy uses underwater photographs to create her work mainly using the CMYK colour separation technique.
Leicester Print Workshop
Leicester Print Workshop is the regional development centre for printmaking. Established by artists in 1986, we are a registered charity, supported by Arts Council England. Our RIBA award-winning building is situated in Leicester City Centre's Cultural Quarter and is home to a large, well equipped open access Printmaking Studio.
We have over 30 years’ experience of teaching people printmaking. Our programme offers the largest number and broadest range of printmaking courses in the region, with courses suitable for beginners as well as experienced printmakers, delivered by practicing artists and nationally renowned tutors. Participants learn in small and friendly groups in our purpose-designed studio.
