Matt Macken

Matt joined Leicester Print Workshop at the beginning of 2014.

In Matt’s work, it is evident that he is inspired by basic still life imagery and composition, however, over recent times he has ventured into more abstract, surreal imagery, design and illustration, using more vibrant colours, humour, and techniques such as collage and chine colle. He has always had an interest in exaggerating shape, form and light. Matt’s favourite form of printmaking is linocut, however, he has ventured into other techniques such as dry-point etching and screenprinting.
