I come from a long line of printers, albeit not especially artistic. My Great Great Grandfather was Edward Kimber the founder of Hughes & Kimber, London, world renowned manufacturers of quality printing presses since 1845. Hughes & Kimber introduced the first steam driven machine to print from lithographic stone in the UK and America. Their hand etching presses are in museums, colleges and studios worldwide and their large copper plates were famously chosen by Whistler for his Venice sets.

I must have printing in my blood as my first impression had just the biggest impression on my life. To me the process has a magic that I find totally absorbing. I find inspiration in bleak landscapes, the dark, the ocean and winter.
I count myself very lucky to be a member of LPW – a truly excellent escape from life at my desk.
