Monoprinting into Books

Create a set of monoprints and learn how to make a beautiful handmade book. Explore mark making, colour mixing, stencils, collage, positive and negative images. Experiment with found objects and make prints using the press.
Make a simple ‘accordion’ style book to present your original prints.

20 minute transfer monoprint session
Demo – positive and negative mark making – using a variety of mark making tools
30 minute work session using these techniques
Demo 3 prints on one plate
30 minute work session using these techniques

Free work using all these techniques but using transparent colour
Cleaning up and complete evaluations

About the Tutor

Currently based in Leicester, Kate is a fine artist whose practice spans drawing, photography, printmaking, installation and sculpture. Her subject matter is usually about transformation, growth and the emotional resonance of the discarded.

Having graduated in Fine Art from De Montfort University in 2010, Kate won 3 prestigious awards for both Printmaking and her art practice and has gone on to exhibit locally and nationally, has collaborated and exhibited as part of The Attic fine art collective as well as teach Fine Art at De Montfort University and printmaking at LPW.
