Etching Summer School

This course is perfect for beginners and those with some prior etching experience.
Working in a small group of 6 participants, develop your own ideas and images using traditional etching techniques.
You will be able to explore:
o Hard, Soft and Soap grounds
o Aquatint techniques (Sugar lift and Spit Bite)
o Drawing with alternative resists
o Experiment with combining etching plates with chine collé and monotype.

About the tutor
Sue Baker Kenton is a visual artist whose work is rooted in observational drawing. Her images evolve over time in a considered and reflective way, echoed by the processes in which they are rendered: primarily etching and lithography.
Recent projects include:
Ghost[ed.] a collaborative stone lithography project recently acquired by the Word and Image Department at V&A Museum.
Sue is currently printmaking fellow at Royal Academy Schools (2016-2018) she is a specialist tutor on UAL’s Foundation in Art and Design at City Lit and part of the tutor team at Leicester Print Workshop.
