Develop Your Rebel Printmaking Voice

Tuesday 4th October until Sunday 30th July 6.30pm - 9.30pm

A unique artist-led course combining theory, practice and independent work to explore an expanded notion of printmaking.

Intro to print is a fantastic way to explore a variety of popular techniques and get an idea of what suits your printmaking palette.

Create, Copy, Collage (8 - 12yrs)

Wednesday 5th April 11am - 2pm

Mash up your favourite images from magazines, collage with some photocopies and drawings and transform them using our presses to create litho prints.

Pattern Polyblock Printing (4 - 7yrs)

Thursday 6th April 11am - 2pm

Spend the morning in our beautiful studio learning how to make and print a relief print. Using Polyblock, we will be drawing, poking and pressing into it with a variety of tools to play with patterns which we then ink and print.

Kamihanga for Kids (8 - 12yrs)

Wednesday 12th April 11am - 2pm

This three hour activity introduces you to Kamihanga, a simple relief printmaking technique ideal for kids.

Pen to Print (8 - 12yrs)

Thursday 13th April 11am - 2pm

Dream up characters from ink splodges, the shape of clouds, your granny’s favourite laugh or the bird which sings to you in the morning and learn how to illustrate them through drawing, printmaking and collage, tell a story and make your own story book.

Print Club

Thursday 20th April until Thursday 25th May 11am - 1pm

Print Club is a great way to meet other printmakers, develop and further your skills and build on your own printmaking practice as part of a small & supportive group.

Embracing Chance: Experimental Etching

Saturday 22nd April until Monday 24th April 10am - 4pm

This course is about building confidence as you become more fluent in the language of etching. There will be a focus on aquatint techniques, alternative resists, playful experimentation and the freedom of working with the processes and materials in an instinctive way.

Handmade Film Workshop

Saturday 22nd April until Monday 24th April 10am - 4pm

In this workshop artist film maker Vicky Smith will guide you to make creative marks, splashes and scratches directly on to a piece of filmstrip using a variety of materials and body parts to make unique handmade cinema which extends the usual notions of physical film vocabulary.

You will learn how to make and prepare your plate, the photochemical processes of preparing your paper and exposure times and methods, and making it all work to produce beautiful deep blue prints.

This experimental course takes screenprinting from an editioning process into a means of creating one off pieces by using abstract colour pulls, simple stencil making, colour overlays and repeat printing of photographic imagery.

Rethink Renew: Monoprinting with Collage

Work with South African artist, Bronwen Paterson, to produce original artwork from your old prints and a range of collage techniques and monoprinting.
