Gemma Wright

Utilising digital photography as her starting point Gemma creates photomontages of cityscapes and architecture. These are then transferred to silk screens utilising the photo imaging process and made into 3D forms and structures.
She is primarily concerned with the way art work is experienced and viewed and encourages interplay and interaction with the 3D forms which are a blend of paper sculpture and artist books.

Gemma is currently studying MA Multi Disciplinary Printmaking at the University of West of England and works at Spike Island Artspace, Bristol. She teaches printmaking at Leicester Print Workshop and other centres in the UK.
‘Leicester Print Workshop is such a vibrant and thriving hub for printmaking and the staff are truly amazing. It is a joy to be a part of such a wonderful organisation and rare resource. ‘
