Keeping our Studio Safe for Everyone

21st July 2021

We wanted to update all Studio Users on our plans following the Government announcement of changes to Covid restrictions.

Whilst infection rates and cases remain high, we have decided to re-open with caution, retaining many of the Covid health and safety measures that we have implemented to keep all our studio users and staff safe to this date. However, this announcement does allow us to move towards a more accessible and flexible Open Access studio model, and to welcome back LPW Members on a Drop-In basis.

Drop-In Studio Use & Changes to Bookable Work Stations
We are very happy to re-introduce Open Access Drop-In use of the studio, alongside the advance booking system, from Wednesday 28th July. LPW Members can drop in during our opening hours (which are Tues – Fri 10am – 4pm during August, due to rescheduled courses happening on Saturdays) Please call / email Kezia, or use the online Shopify system to book studio time. We would prefer advance notice wherever possible, but please feel free to drop in when you are making a shorter Studio visit!

The Bookable Work Stations will be adapted this week to reflect changes to allow more members to use the Studio. Members will still be able to book in advance to reserve a Work Table in the studio, and access to shared equipment will be managed with additional cleaning time for the technicians throughout the day.

Inductions & Studio Support
We know it has been a long time since many of you have visited the Studio, so we wanted to reassure everyone that LPW Technicians are very happy to arrange inductions at any time to refamiliarise yourself with the Studio. Members are very welcome to call or email us to talk through any problems or concerns prior to their visit, and Studio technicians are always on hand and available to support members reconfiguring to the Studio.

We’ll be reviewing all of these measures as we go and welcome any feedback on ways we can make everybody feel safe and supported in the Studio.

Symptoms
If you have any symptoms of Covid or any reason to believe that you may have been exposed to infection, please stay at home.
If you need to cancel a pre-booked studio slot, or a course booking, due to testing positive for Covid or being required to isolate, please contact us by phone or email and we will be happy to transfer your booking.

Reduced Capacity
There will be a max capacity of 20 in the building (including LPW Staff). Staff will continue to work from home when possible, and Studio-based Staff will continue to take regular lateral flow tests before travelling to the Studio.

Social Distancing & Masks
We will keep social distancing in place throughout the building but reduce it from 2m to 1m, apart from in the Project (dining) space, when we will keep tables at 2m distance. The kitchen will continue to be closed to LPW Members, with hot drink preparation taking place in the Project (dining) space.

Masks should be worn throughout the building by all Studio users and Staff, apart from when people are exempt. Please do not be offended if staff / tutors remind you about social distancing and mask measures whilst you are in the studio, these measures are in place to ensure everyone’s safety and confidence.

Airflow
We will be keeping the Studio as ventilated as possible, keeping Studio doors and windows open.

Hygiene & Shared Use of Equipment
We will continue to operate with enhanced cleaning measures. All Studio users and visitor must sanitise hands on entry to building and before using any shared equipment.

We hope this update finds you well and looking forward to your next Studio visit, we’re confident that this combination of retained measures and new flexibility will create an improved Studio experience for all our Studio users, and we cannot wait to see you again soon!

Many thanks for your continued support and understanding!
