Extra Date for Linocut Course Added Due To Popular Demand!
3rd March 2019
What a relief!
Due to popular demand, we’ve added a second date for the Introduction to Linocut course on Saturday 13th April. You’ll learn how to design your image and transfer it to lino, and use a selection of tools to cut the design, leaving a relief surface. Then ink up your plate and print using hand burnishing and one of our Studio presses.
This course is taught by Sue Rowland. Sue is a textile artist and printmaker whose work includes detailed illustrative lino prints created alongside layered textile prints, embellished with machine embroidery and appliqué. Book here
We’re also very happy to welcome a new artist, Gregory Millar, to LPW to teach a new linocut weekend course this Summer. Cutting Edge – The Art of Simplifying Linocuts is a unique chance to work with this inspiring artist, focusing on his working processes, to produce A4 linocut prints using soft Japanese vinyl.
Gregory studied graphic design and printmaking before embarking on a career in graphic design at the BBC in London. He has also worked with creative agencies on brand identity projects around the globe. He has now come full circle and returned to his love of printmaking. His linocut prints are often large in size and use multiple linocut plates to overlay different colours together.
This new course is perfect for those who want to refine their linocutting skills.
It also suitable for beginners.
Time to get cutting!
