Autumn's great for printmaking

Come and learn how to make prints in our beautiful, award-winning printmaking studio.

All of our courses are suitable for complete beginners unless otherwise specified. Whether you’ve never tried printing before, haven’t printed since college, fancy trying something new or want to spend some time learning and making our printmaking courses are a great place to start.

We’re located close to Leicester’s train, bus and coach stations, with city centre parking nearby. You can now book and pay for all our courses online.

Etching Introduction & Refresher day, Saturday 14th October
Explore line and tone and create your own beautiful etchings.

Letterpress Day Course, Sunday 22nd October
Working up to A4 in size and using a selection of lead and wood type, you will learn how to set, ink and print type to create striking, bold prints using a range of colours.

Introduction to Print Six Week Morning Course OR Evening Course, Thursday 2nd November – Thursday 7th December
This popular six week course is the perfect introduction for those new to printmaking and wishing to explore it further.

Solar Plate Day, Saturday 4th November
A day course introducing this photo-etching process that uses photopolymer plates that are developed and ‘etched’ in water. Perfect for photos and drawn images.

Mono Screenprinting Day, Saturday 18th November
Using hand drawn line and stencils you will learn how to make one off prints using a silkscreen techniques. A great way to experiment and a great refresher.

Drypoint Engraving Taster, Sunday 19th November
A great technique to transform your drawings into prints.

Hard Back Bookmaking, Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th November
Over the course of a weekend, learn traditional book making techniques to create a series of hard back books.

Textile Printmaking Weekend, Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd December
Learn how to make beautiful textile screenprints and experiment with surface decoration techniques – foiling, flocking and puff binder to embellish designs and introduce different surfaces and textures to the printed fabric.

Screenprinting Weekend, Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th December
Learn how to transfer your photographic and drawn images to screen and explore layering and stencils.

Letterpress Taster, Saturday 16th December
Following a series of demonstrations and try your hand at how to set, proof and lock type into a chase ready to print on our Adana presses.
