Leicester Print Workshop is 30!

1st June 2016

2016 is Leicester Print Workshop’s 30th Birthday year. Join us and celebrate printmaking.

We’re marking our 30th birthday in style with a season of summer print programming, including an open weekend, exhibitions, free workshops and drop-in activities, a symposium and a print festival later in the year.

Open Weekend, Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th June, 10am – 5pm.

Come and see inside our award-wining new studio. Free drop-in printmaking activities and demonstrations, a fundraising cake sale, the launch of our new LPW Shop and the Light Line exhibition. Open to everyone!

This is a perfect way for those new to printmaking to dip their toes in and see what we are all about.

Whether you make prints, enjoy looking at prints, like getting your hands inky, want to learn about how artists make their work or love buying artwork there will be something for you at our Open Weekend!

1986 – 2016

We’ve come a long way since our formation in 1986. The last thirty years have seen us cultivate a thriving printmaking community in three different, increasingly larger studios, stage more than 100 exhibitions, run workshops with many of the city and county’s schools and colleges, teach thousands of people printmaking, and inspire, encourage and enable artists, designers and makers at all stages of their careers to learn, experiment and create countless pieces of new work.

Our new award-winning printmaking studio at St. George Street is the perfect place for us to continue our work and we look forward to another 30 years of printmaking in the heart of Leicester City Centre.
